Weekend Rant: Things That Grind My Gears

January 31, 2016

I use my weekend days to post about anything non fashion and beauty related on here and today’s topic is things that grind my gears. Scrolling through social media, the news, various blogs, etc. has just really made my blood pressure rise and I need to let it out before I develop a health problem.

I love social media. I use it daily for L&L and personally. What’s better than seeing cute pics of my friends’ kids and puppy photos every day? Nothing. That is one reason I love it. One reason I hate it, people just say whatever they want, be it informative or stupid.

*This is not directed at anyone specific, just a general consensus.*

  1. Ungrateful people. I’m really sorry you’re going through a hard time. We all have issues from time to time so you aren’t the first and you certainly aren’t the last person to face a trying time. At the end of the day, no matter how bad things seem, there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. The things you take for granted are the things other people long to have. Everything from having a roof over your head to being able to see, talk, walk, hear, etc. are things that we take for granted but should be thanking God for every day. I’m not trying to be Gandhi over here, I’m just saying that some people need to take a step back and recognize.
  2. Arrogant folks. You know what? We were all made by the same Creator and are equal in His eyes so you needn’t think you’re better than anyone else. There will always be someone smarter, richer, taller, skinnier, etc. so no need for you to be all high and mighty. Money can’t buy everything i.e. class, kindness, and a better attitude.
  3. Mean and rude people. Being nice isn’t that hard. It’s actually quite simple. Try it some time.
  4. Pretenders. Simply, stop trying be someone you’re not and keep up with Joneses. You can buy new clothes, alter your appearance, change the way you act, but at the end of the day, you’re still the same person at your core. Do your own thing. I promise is much easier and more satisfying. You can only keep up appearances for so long. I like to follow fashion & beauty trends, but still pick and choose and adapt things to fit me and my personality.

I try not to let things get to me, but sometimes I just feel that I’ve had enough and I  have to vent. Now that that’s out of the way, I feel much better.

I love Ellen and Buzzfeed had a list of her quotes the other day so I thought I’d end this rant with my favorites.
