Oily Skin Must Haves

April 19, 2016

I always had normal skin up until a few years ago when it became so incredibly oily. I had to go through a learning process of figuring out which products work best at controlling my oil and keeping me matte. After some trial and error, I’ve figured it out and I’m sharing my picks with you.

Mattifying Primer
1. Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Mattifying Prep Gel
2. Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm

Matte, Long Lasting Foundation
1. Makeup Forever Mat Velvet
2. MAC Studio Fix Fluid
3. MAC Pro Longwear
4. Estee Lauder Double Wear
5. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless
6. L’Oreal Pro Matte Infallible
7. Revlon Color Stay for Combo/Oily Skin

1. Palladio Rice Powder
2. Coty Airspun
3. Rimmel Stay Matte
4. RCMA No Color Powder (not shown)

Set + Extend Sprays
1. MAC Fix+ *
2. Makeup Forever Mist & Fix
3. Urban Decay De-Slick

*MAC Fix+ is great for helping powders dissolve into the skin and help makeup not appear so cakey. It does not extend the life of your makeup like the Makeup Forever and the Urban Decay do. It’s simply an additional way to set your makeup.

Blotting Sheets
1. Palladio Rice Paper
2. elf Shine Eraser

If you have oily skin, what products do you use? I’m always looking for new things to try!

I have the weirdest skin. It’ll start out dry, which makes applying makeup tricky… but in a few hours it will end up totally oily. It drives me crazy! I’ve had good luck with the FITMe foundation, but I really want to get my hands on the Nivea balm + a good setting spray! I’ve used + really liked the UD one before! This was a great post!!

Combo skin is definitely tricky! I definitely think the Nivea balm and the De-Slick spray would help. My skin was always normal up until a few years ago and then it just became MEGA oily. Thank goodness I’ve figured out how to keep the shine at bay.

Thanks! If it says “matte” I try it and these are the products that made the cut.

I also have oily skin and love a lot of these products! I haven’t tried either primer, but definitely adding them to my must try list!

They are both so good! The Nivea works so well and it’s so cheap.

You can say that again!! I’ve given away/tossed so many things over the years. Thank goodness I’ve found some staples.

I still havent tried the Makeup Forever Matte Foundation… I am still using the Rimmel Matte Foundation! Does it last all day?

I love the Rimmel one too. It has really good coverage. The Estee Lauder lasts the longest. I wore it all through high school & college, but they changed it and now they don’t have a shade that matches me. If you can get a match, I’d go with that one.
